Kiln Formed Glass
Artist's Statement - "Vessels are a new form, technique and challenge that has captivated my creative curiosity. I explored this form in handbuilt ceramics for years and have returned to it using kiln formed glass. A vessel is an object that has a functional concept, either visibly functional or esoterically functional. Take your pick. Choose your argument with that word. But, because ‘vessel’ spans a wide array of adjectives, it also has an even wider application of creative choices. The pieces shown are kiln formed glass using fusing and draping. 'Draping' is the descriptive word that is used for this technique. However, I feel a better descriptive word is 'free-fall'. If you're interested in a piece, please email me."
